Today's Fall Economic Statement shows that Ontario is well-positioned for growth. Our responsible plan is guided by key principles that will protect health care and education while helping us to overcome our challenges, together.

Despite global economic uncertainty, we are slightly ahead of schedule on our way to balancing the budget by 2017–18. New policies must not stand in the way of eliminating the deficit.

That’s why our responsible plan includes the Healthy Homes Renovation Tax Credit. It would:

  • Provide $1,500/year to help offset the costs of improvements that help seniors stay in their homes longer
  • Create 10,500 jobs/year
  • Benefit taxpayers by relieving pressure on long-term care costs. Our focus is on creating jobs and helping families and the Healthy Homes Renovation Tax Credit would do both those things.
